Crane (Richard Alan Krieger) was a member of the renowned rock band “The Minutemen” from San Pedro, Los Angeles, who notably opened for R.E.M. during their 1985 tour. His contributions included playing trumpet and singing backup vocals on their albums and tours.
As the writer, singer, and bassist of Tragicomedy, he released the punk rock album “Homage to Nada” on New Alliance/SST Records in 1983.
Throughout 1980 to 1995, Crane also performed and recorded with several other bands including Another Umbrella, The Invisible Chains, The Rub, and The Dick Edgemont Quartet.
His enduring passion for songwriting has driven him to create numerous eclectic pop/rock songs over the years, where he often plays all the instruments and produces the recordings himself.
Recently, Crane has released a new song titled You Can’t Take It With You When You Go, now available for streaming on most major music platforms.
