In 2024, a motorcycle crash on the streets changed the course of scarrr’s life. What followed wasn’t just a near-death experience, but a full physical and mental rebuild. He suffered eleven fractures to his face that required eleven titanium plates, shattered legs, and a stroke. For most people, that trauma would mean disappearing from the world for a long time. For scarrr, an active-duty Navy sailor, it became the turning point that reshaped his music entirely.

Ahead of its official release, we were given an early listen to what may be his most personal track yet, My Passing.

Rather than leaning into a soft or sentimental recovery narrative, the song hits hard. It’s abrasive, industrial, and emotionally exposed, pulling from techno and experimental textures instead of familiar comfort zones. His upcoming album Techno-Sol looks outward with a planetary theme, tracks named after mercury, venus, and mars. But My Passing stays grounded in reality. The song talks about the moment of impact and the brutal aftermath that followed, laying out the physical and psychological descent that came with it.

A key part of the track’s impact comes from a collaboration with a Swedish guitarist. His guitar work adds a melodic lift that cuts through the heaviness. As the track progresses, the instrumentation slowly rises out of the darkness, mirroring the internal shift from survival to resolve. The guitar solo is intentional and hopeful, less about showmanship and more about movement forward.

scarrr’s vocal performance is completely exposed. There’s no attempt to smooth the edges or chase radio-friendly perfection. His delivery carries the weight of someone who has lived every word, and that authenticity is impossible to fake. Drawing from influences that range from the psychedelic tones of Tame Impala to the stark, shadowed energy of artists like Suicideboys and BONES, he turns those references into something his own.

Production-wise, My Passing avoids the glossy, over-compressed style that dominates modern releases. The beats are cold and precise, recalling the sterile rhythm of hospital machines, then the surrounding atmosphere remains dense and immersive. It’s a track that meets the listener where they are, offering presence, especially for anyone going through their own recovery or struggle.

The release comes as part of a packed rollout at the start of 2026. Following Surreal Insurrection, My Passing arrives alongside the full Techno-Sol album on January 28, with Brighter Day dropping just two days later. Given that scarrr had to relearn how to breathe after his injuries, the pace is defiant.

scarrr isn’t asking for sympathy or shallow encouragement. What he’s reaching for is connection and respect. My Passing stands apart because it’s anchored in lived experience and real consequence. It shows that even when a body is reinforced with metal, it’s the spirit that carries the real weight.

This chapter is about to begin. When My Passing and Techno-Sol arrive on January 28, they will be evidence. And for anyone who’s ever had to fight their way back from the edge, this is a record worth hearing and sharing.
