Alternative Ties, a Melodic Rock band, came into existence in 2014 under the leadership of the talented vocalist/lyricist Amit Kiran Dasgupta and his circle of friends.
Embracing influences from different genres such as Alternative Rock, Post-Hardcore, and Progressive Rock, the band fearlessly explores their musical boundaries by seamlessly blending clean melodic vocals with the intensity of heavy guitars, dynamic basslines, and impactful drums.
Throughout their journey, Alternative Ties has showcased their exceptional abilities by captivating audiences in numerous live performances across Bangalore, including notable events like RVCE’s Rocktane Battle, BMSCE’s Utsav, and NLSIU’s Strawberry Fields National Music Festival.
The band’s current line consists of Md. Uvais (guitar, bass, and production) and vocalist Amit Kiran Dasgupta whose lyrics talks about anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and various struggles of life.
The band’s commitment to their craft and their distinct sound have positioned them as a force to be reckoned with in the rock music scene.
